Last night, the Wranglers headed to Heritage to face off against the Heritage Broncos. After an exciting first game and sweep against the Grapevine Ponies last week, the Wranglers were excited to get back out on the court together this week.
Still energized from last week’s win, the Wranglers B team stepped on the court full of energy and confidence. Although the West Wranglers got out to a 8-1 lead in both the first and second set, the Heritage Broncos did not give up the fight and proved to be a fierce opponent for the West Wranglers. The game was full of long rallies and excellent plays from both teams. After an intense fight in the first two sets, the Wranglers and Broncos had to go to a third set. The Broncos got out to an early lead this time, but the Wranglers were able to come back and bring home the win thanks to their 15-13 victory! Our Wranglers of the Week are Anika Devireddy and Isha Pillai.
After an exciting game by the B team, the A team took the court with high energy and a lot of excitement. The Heritage Broncos got off to an early lead after a run by a strong server, but the Wranglers did not give up. When faced with powerful hits, strategic tips, and strong serves, the Wranglers continued to fight back and had some incredible aces, kills, digs, and block touches of their own. Although they ultimately came up short, we could not be more proud of our A team and the heart and effort they showed on the court this week. Our Wranglers of the Week are Alina Le and Sanvi Thapa.
Energized by the exciting games from B and A team, the C team came out ready to play. The Heritage Broncos played a strong first set and were able to secure a win. However, the Wranglers kept their heads high and turned up the intensity, bringing home a 25-7 win in the second set. This took the game to a third set, where the Heritage Broncos and West Wranglers were neck and neck, fighting tooth and nail for every point. After an exciting match, the West Wranglers were able to bring home a win. Our Wranglers of the Week are Adriana Reyes and Emily Palomo.
We have two additional Wranglers of the Week to celebrate: Haley Gomez and Kshema Parimi. These two athletes have stepped up in incredible ways this season, and we are so proud of their incredible attitudes, their consistent hard work, and their dedication to serving their team.
As we close out the second week of our season, we are so proud of our athletes and the hard work that they have poured into this season. We are looking forward to our first home game next week against our hometown rivals, the Coppell Middle School East Broncos— We hope to see you there!
