The Coppell Middle School Wranglers hosted the Colleyville Middle School Colts for an 8th grade football game. The Colts offense started off strong, putting up points on the board early in the first quarter. The Wranglers had early turnovers, but moved the ball in the running game. Noble Palmer rushed for at least 40 yards in the first quarter, with fantastic blocking from the West offensive line. In the second half, the Colts continued to put up points due to Wrangler offensive turnovers. Despite the miscues, the West boys continued to fight, punching in a touchdown in the first half on a run from Nick Crenshaw. In the second half, the Wranglers controlled the ball on offense via the run game. With continued great blocking up front from the offensive lineman, West ran all over the Colleyville Colts defense, capped off by another Crenshaw touchdown run. However, it was too little too late as the Wranglers committed 4 turnovers, and that was all Colleyville needed to secure the victory. The final score was Colts 38 to West 13. West has a bye week next week. After taking some much needed rest, West will travel to take on Cross Timbers Middle School on the road to kick off the second half of their season.
