8th Grade C Team Claims FOURTH Victory of the Season!

WEST GIRLS ATHLETICS

West Girls Athletics | 10/17/2025

Last night, the West Wranglers took on the Cross Timbers Wolves in front of their home crowd. After their bye week last week, the Wranglers were beyond excited to get to play again this week, and after several weeks on the road, they couldn’t wait to get back out there in front of their home crowd!

Going into the first game of the night, the B Team Wranglers was ready to get back into gameplay! They played strong throughout the sets - getting some killer hits and serves, and having excellent communication. Our back row played hard, taking hard hits and serves from the Wolves, while also running wherever they needed to to keep the ball in play. Although they took the lead in the beginning of the first set, the Wolves were able to gain momentum and came back to win the first set 25-14. This didn’t stop our Wrangler’s hard work and determination, though. Going into the second set, the girls continued to get great hits, tips, and getting the ball to their target in beautiful passes. Although they stayed close in score for the majority of the game, our Wranglers fell short, losing the second set 25-18. We are so proud of how the girls played and encouraged each other last night, and we are ready for our last home game of the season next week!

After a strong showing by the B team, the Wranglers A team came out ready to play. The Wranglers put up an incredible fight against their fierce opponents. They challenged the Cross Timbers Wolves with strong attacks and competitive serves, improving their serving percentage by more than double from the previous game and earning several aces against their opponent’s strong defense. The A team’s serve/receive was stronger than ever with almost every pass going directly to target, giving our setters and hitters the best possible opportunity to threaten the Wolves with a powerful attack. Although the Wranglers played a phenomenal game on both offense and defense, the Wolves were ultimately able to clinch the victory, but we are so proud of our Wranglers and their incredible showing last night.

With the night coming to an end, the C Team Wranglers stepped onto the court with determination and a mindset of winning. With incredible blocks and hits, runs of multiples with their serves, and amazing communication, the Wolves did not know what was coming for them! Within the first set, the C Team won a tight game of 25-23, clutching the first win and going into the second set with even more confidence. Going into our second set, the Wranglers made sure to keep the energy up, communication flowing, and focus present. Passes from the back row were beautiful, angling to get the ball perfectly to our setters. Our front row was prepared, taking blocks and sending hits that were stronger than ever. By the end of the second set, the C Team won 25-11. This is the C Team’s FOURTH Win of the season and we are so proud of their accomplishments so far and how well they have worked together! The growth in this team has been unmatched and we cannot wait to see what they do at our last game of the season!

We cannot believe how fast this season has flown by, but thankfully, we aren’t finished yet! Want to come catch the Wranglers play in their final regular season game? Come on out next Thursday as we take on the North Cougars on our home turf. In addition to this being our last regular season game, this will also be our Family & Friends Appreciation Night. It will be a great night of celebrating an amazing season, as well as those who have supported us along the way. If you’re able to make it, we would love for you to WEAR PINK, as this will also be our PINK OUT for Breast Cancer Awareness game! We hope to see you there!
