The Lady Wranglers took on Coppell North for the final, regular season game! It was a good night of volleyball! Lots of close games! It was West's PINK OUT game so it was great to see everyone supporting cancer and showing off their PINK colors! The girls enjoyed making posters, face painting, and wearing crazy pink outfits!
For the A game, North started out strong with their first server, which put West down by 9 points. But the girls kept chipping away, and Isha Deshmukh stepped up to serve, and got us back in the game to tie it up 15-15. A few errors on West, North started to pull away again. We kept going back and forth, but North took the 1st game. The second game, West dominated with serving, scrappy defense, and lots of errors made by the North team. West easily took the 2nd game by 10 points. The 3rd game, did not start well. Same server from the 1st game came up and got 7 in a row. Finally, there was a side out, but West could not dig themselves out of the hole and North ended up winning the match 2-1.
However, the Lady Wranglers have a chance to redeem themselves. We are playing North again, next week at the District Tournament, which will be at Cross Timbers. If the Wranglers stay focused, they can hopefully advance to the finals!
For the B Team, the girls had a tough 1st game with some missed serves and getting the ball over on 2nd and 3rd touches. North took the 1st game. For the 2nd game, it was a neck and neck battle. A North server kept hitting the out of bounds line, which caused them to get back in the game when West had a solid lead. The girls got the ball back, but with some errors on free balls, they couldn't close the deal and North took the game 26-24.
Great season for B team with some wins! They improved so much throughout the season! So proud of them!
For the C Team, it wasn't the same team we have had throughout the season. The C Team was undefeated up until last week. For some reason, there were too many missed serves and not finishing plays. North took the 1st game. West fought, but again, the stronger players were not playing their best game. Missed serves, misses passes cost them them the match and North won the match 2-0.
C Team ended their season with a 4-2 record. That is the most wins West has seen in a long time. Finishing in the top 4 is always our goal and we our proud one of teams got to do it!
The girls improved so much this season with passing and serving!
Great season overall! So proud of our Lady Wranglers!
