WEST GIRLS ATHLETICS

West Girls Athletics | 10/24/2025

This week, the West Wranglers took on the North Cougars in their final home game of the season in our Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness game. Knowing that this was our last home game and the final game of the season for our B & C team, the Wranglers showed up with higher levels of energy, fight, and excitement than ever before. They were also incredibly energized by the crowd full of supporters— thank you to all who came last night and throughout this season to support our team. We are so grateful to have such incredible family, friends, staff, and community members who support our team so relentlessly!

The B Team Wranglers went into their last home game prepared and confident in bringing out one more win to end the season. Starting with the first set, with excellent communication, spotting when getting the ball over, great serves, our Wranglers came out with a tight win against the Cougars. Spirits were high going into the second set, keeping the score close and anticipation high with amazing hits and digs, however falling short to a Cougars killer offense. Going into the third and final set, the Wranglers were not finished showing their home gym what they were made of! With a streak of great serves, blocks, and some amazing hits into the middle of the Cougar defense, the Wranglers came out on top, winning 2 out of 3 sets. We are so proud of how hard our girls have worked this year and cannot wait to see where their volleyball careers take them! Our Wranglers of the Week are Saanvi Marathu and Sloan Patel.

Energized by B team’s exciting win, the West Wranglers A team took the court ready to fight. The North Cougars came out with strong, consistent serves, but the Wranglers continued making accurate passes to the setter and did not allow the Cougars to get on long serving runs. They went back and forth with the North Cougars in the first set, only coming up short 21-25. In the second set, the Wranglers turned up the heat. Their aggressive attacking, high energy, and strong defense enabled the Wranglers to earn a 25-15 win in the second set over the North Cougars, forcing a third set. Although they ultimately did not come out with the win, the Wranglers played a phenomenal game and were able to earn their highest serving and hitting percentages of any game this season. We are so proud of the Wranglers and their hard work this week. Our Wranglers of the Week are Rithika Bavireddy and Sanvi Thapa.

After watching a rowdy and exciting B Game, along with an intense and close-call A Game, the C Team Wranglers were ready to end the night with a win. The crowd continued to be in awe of the hard work and dedication of our girls as the C Team showed off their amazing serves, defense, and hits. Being on their toes and ready to move at a moment’s notice, the Wranglers played amazing defense in the first set, winning against the Cougars. As the second set approached, the Cougars got confident, showing off their great offense and making our defense work hard! Protecting the middle of the court as best as they could, quick hits and short drops ended up creating a lost set for the Wranglers, bringing us to our third game of three sets for the night. Although late and everyone tired, our C Team did not let up! They continued working hard, talking more, watching the protection of their court, and covering each other better throughout the entirety of the game. The Wranglers were able to pull out a win in the third set, making them the overall winners for the game. We are incredibly excited for and proud of our C Team, with a season record of 5-1. They worked so hard and we could not express our excitement and pride more! Our Wranglers of the Week are Advika Chagi and Adriana Reyes.

We are so proud of all three teams for their amazing showing this week, and we are so excited that our B & C teams were able to end their season by earning wins in front of their home crowd! Additionally, both our B team (4-2) and C team (5-1) were able to finish the season in SECOND PLACE in the district! We could not be prouder of our teams or all of the hard work they have poured into this season.

Although our regular season has come to a close, the season is not over yet for the West Wranglers! The Wranglers A team will have the opportunity to face off against the North Cougars once again next week for their end of season tournament. We hope to see you there!
