Last night, the West Wranglers had their first game of the season and got to play it in front of their home crowd! There was an incredible crowd of students, parents, and community members, and it was so exciting to kick off the season in such an amazing way! Thank you to all who came to support us and make our first home game so special.

Our A team started the night off strong, and despite battling a strong wind and a competitive offense and strong defense from the Ponies, the Wranglers did not let up and played a phenomenal game. Our forwards and mids were passing and communicating well, allowing us to spend a lot of the game on offense and to get several shots on goal. Congratulations to Diya Atluri for scoring our first goal of the season! West’s defense was solid, not allowing the ball to get past, and the few times that it did, our goalies, Sanvi Thapa and Ariella Aguilar, did a phenomenal job of keeping the ball out of the goal, including making diving saves! Although the Wranglers did not come out with the win, we could not be more proud of their effort, hard work, and attitudes throughout their first game of the season.

Unfortunately, the Grapevine Ponies did not have a B team, so the West Wranglers B team did not have an official game to play, but they did not let that stop them from having an amazing first home experience for the season! The team split into two squads and scrimmaged in a tight battle that ended with a 1-0 score— Congratulations to Navika Kaushik on scoring the goal that won her team the scrimmage and to all of our B team on a great night!

The Wranglers also invited students from Lee Elementary, Canyon Ranch Elementary, and Valley Ranch Elementary to celebrate the first game of the season with our 1st Annual Elementary School Feeder Night— It was a blast for all of us! The team did a phenomenal job of hosting, and we loved seeing so many future Wranglers in the stands cheering us on! Thank you to all who attended and made it such a special night.

The Wranglers are off to an amazing start— We’re so proud of all of their hard work, growth, and leadership so far, and we can’t wait to see all that they accomplish on and off the field this season. We hope you can come cheer us on at our first away game next week against the Heritage Broncos!
