This week, the West Wranglers traveled to Heritage Middle School to take on the Heritage Broncos. This was the Wranglers' first away game of the season, so they were excited to take the field at a new venue this week!

Walking onto the Heritage Broncos’ field, you could feel the intensity immeasurably. For the CMSW Wranglers, this was an excellent test that pushed both the teams to their limits. It was a physical, high speed battle from start to finish, and while the scoreboards didn’t favor us this time, the way we played told a bigger story. The girls gave everything they had, proving that even in a tough fight, the Wrangler spirit doesn’t back down.

The A team showed some serious technical growth under pressure. In the net, Ariella Aguilar and Sanvi Thapa had some beautiful saves, with a combined total of 18 by the end of the game. On the field, Diya Atluri and Gia Thottakara weaved through the Broncos defense with amazing footwork. Supporting the attack, Alana Smith delivered soaring kicks which flipped the field, while Lena Birmingham and Adriana Reyes had wonderful defense. Throughout every minute of the game, we continually put in the effort to stay aggressive on offense. Although we weren't able to come home with the win, we left everything on the field, supported one another relentlessly, and exhibited growth towards our individual and team goals, so we could not be more proud of our team.

The B team followed up with an incredibly tight battle of their own. For a team with many players new to the game, the progress was notable and impressive. Jocelyn Smith and Umaimah Suhail stood tall in the goal and made beautiful saves. You could see the growth in real time as the team communicated better and moved as a unit. Their defense, led by Salma Odeh and Myra Hakani, was like a wall. Even while the pressure was on, the B team stayed aggressive on offense. Excellent ball handling and passing from Daana Kavali and Vienna Vinothraj kept the Broncos on their toes throughout the game. Even though they didn't come home with a win, the Wranglers played a phenomenal game and experienced so many victories on and off the field.

Next week is crosstown rivalry week, and we couldn't be more excited. The Wranglers will take on both the East Broncos and the North Cougars at CMS East. We hope to see you there!
