Last night, the Wranglers faced off against their hometown rivals, the North Cougars, in front of their home crowd for their first game of the 2026 season. With a crowd full of staff, students, and family members cheering on our team for their first home game, the energy in the gym was at an all time high and set the tone for an incredible night of volleyball.

Our C Team took the court with high energy and excitement to start off the night. They had been anticipating this moment since the first day of school and were challenged with the task of being the first team to play. Although we got off to a little bit of a slow start, the Wranglers did a great job of adapting to challenges they faced and kept their energy high throughout the match. The Wranglers ultimately fell short of the North Cougars, but we could not be more proud of their hard work, hustle, and heart. Our Wrangler of the Week was Pragathi Sathya.

After an exciting match from the C team, the Wranglers A team took the court with new levels of excitement and energy. The Cougars were consistently and powerfully attacking the ball, but the Wranglers had excellent defense with accurate passes, great blocks and block touches, and excellent communication. No matter what happened in the match, the Wranglers' energy and support for their teammates never wavered. The Cougars took home the first set, but the Wranglers did not give up the fight. Despite facing some powerful serves in the second set, the Wranglers serve/receive remained strong as they fought hard to keep every ball off the floor. This allowed our setters to get some amazing sets to our hitters who got some incredible, powerful hits. Although they were not ultimately able to secure the victory, we are so proud of the A Team and the incredible fight they put up against their crosstown rivals. Our Wranglers of the Week are Advika Kamal and Shraddha Kakani.

Finally, our B Team took the court in a similar fashion to A & C team: full of energy and excitement. The team approached the game with determination and power, hitting hard, setting beautifully, and communicating seamlessly. After a close battle, the North Cougars were victorious in the first set, but the Wranglers were not done yet. The B team fought tooth and nail against the Cougars, and despite being faced with a very challenging offense, the Wranglers never gave up the fight. Instead, they rose to the challenge and made the North Cougars fight for every point. The final score of the game was 23-25. Although they did not come out on top, we could not be more proud of the B team and their heart, fight, and energy this week. Our Wrangler of the Week was Shanaya Gandhi.

We also would like to recognize the hard work of our managers: Aarthi Saravanan, Maanvitha Osuru, Manasvi Nallani, and Rishitha Pandipati. Each of them has done a phenomenal job for us this season, is an indispensable part of our team, and makes our team better every day. Additionally, we would like to celebrate Anaghya Nandra for going above and beyond to support and encourage her teammates. We are so proud of y'all and truly appreciate your heart and hard work.
