C TEAM BRINGS HOME FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON!

WEST GIRLS ATHLETICS

West Girls Athletics | 9/11/2026

Last night, the West Wranglers traveled to Colleyville to compete against the Colleyville Colts in their first away game of the season.

The C team was first to take the court against the Colts. Although the game got off to a little bit of a slow start, the Wranglers quickly found their rhythm and played with the highest energy we've seen this season. They communicated well as a team, and their accurate passes and competitive serves made the strong Colts team work hard to earn every point. As a result of their team work, the Wranglers were able to earn a win in the first set. The Colts did not give up the fight and brought home a win in the second set, which took the game to three. This is when the C team really began to shine. They looked stronger than ever and were truly connecting as a team. The Wranglers refused to let the ball hit the floor, communicated well as a team, kept their serves over and in, stayed aggressive at the net, and celebrated one another/lifted each other up. By the end of the night, the Wranglers had earned 6 kills, 11 aces, maintained a 79% serving percentage, held the Colts to less than 3 aces per set, and officially earned their first win of the season. We are so proud of our C team and all of their hard work, leadership, and teamwork!

In addition to C team's big win, we had some other very exciting things to celebrate this week. First, we want to recognize the amazing game by our B team! They fought incredibly hard to earn the first win of a set this season and were only two points away from bringing home a win at the end of the game. The Wranglers were down 6-14 in the third set, and thanks to some amazing serves by Anaghya Nandra, incredible game play by the team, and powerful support from the sidelines, the B team was able to come all the way back to 13-15. We could not be more proud of the B team and their heart, hustle, positive attitudes, support for their team, and hard work! We would also like to recognize the hard work of our A team! They have experienced incredible growth— not just from last season to this season or the last few weeks to today, but also from the first set to the second set against the Colts. We are so proud of their growth mindset, fighting spirit, work ethic, positive energy, and relentless support of their teammates!

This week's Wranglers of the Week are Anaghya Nandra, Anusha Sharma, Kena Kimathi, and Kristina Pandit for their consistent passes, excellent serves under pressure, strong attacks at the net, and positive attitude that make a difference on this team. Congratulations, Wranglers!

Next week, the Wranglers will travel back to Colleyville to compete against the Heritage Broncos. We hope to see you there!
