On the last day of September, the wranglers raced at Bob Jones Park for their first 2 mile competition of the year! The new distance proved challenging for many, but gave all of them a new personal best and a starting point to grow from the rest of the season. We will race again on the same course for the final meet of the season, which will be a great way to see how the runners have progressed!

Two stand out performances made for an exciting eighth grade men’s race. Haniel Johnson took third place with a time of 10:27. This is an average of faster than 5:15 pace per mile. Johnson's previous 1 mile personal best was 5:49. He beat that in the 1st mile and the 2nd mile of the race this week. The two runners who beat him were running right at or below five minute pace per mile! Not far behind Johnson, Aryan Dalal also set a new personal best with a 11:28 for his 2 mile, coming in eighth place. His second mile of the race broke his personal best in the mile which was 6:05 previously. These boys were all moving!

We are excited to see how all of our runners continue to grow at their pace per mile throughout the year in both races and practices!

The Wranglers will compete against some of the same schools next week at Pike Middle School in Justin, TX, hosted by Tidwell Middle School. See you there!
