7th Grade
CMS West- 12
Irving DeZavala- 38
This week the Wranglers faced Lorenzo De Zavala middle school instead of Pike Middle School. Although plans changed, the Wranglers still showed up to play and fought hard. De Zavala Middle School took an early lead, but were slowed down in the second half, giving Coppell West hope that they’d be able to cut down the larger point differential. Running back Gabe Villa stepped up for the Wranglers scoring both of their touchdowns. Center Cameron Molina led the offensive line, encouraging them to make mid-game changes discussed at halftime. Linebacker Sam Jinu stepped up for the defense, leading the team in overall tackles. Linebacker Ryker Villines also made some big plays on defense, giving the Wranglers excitement and energy when they most needed it. Next week the Wrangler will take on the Tidwell Titans at home and hope to earn their first official victory.

Irving Lamar- 24

The West Wranglers traveled to Irving Lamar Middle School on Wednesday night after finding out Tuesday that their game against Pike Middle School had been cancelled. The Wranglers were a team of two halves. The first half was sprinkled with too many miscues and mistakes to overcome. Penalties and turnovers would haunt the Wranglers during the first half of the game and they would fall down 24-0 early on and into halftime. The Wrangler team in the second half was physical and aggressive! Atharva Naktode led the way on defense, flying around the field and making hard hitting tackles at the line of scrimmage. Zaid Azzam had a great night on the defensive line and helped the defense put the pressure on Lamar all night long. The defense would keep them out of the endzone all second half, but the offense could not get anything going and West would go on to finish the game down 24-0. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams will be in action next Tuesday against Tidwell.
