WEST 7TH VOLLEYBALL ON THE ROAD AT FOSSIL HILL

West 7th Volleyball on the road at Fossil Hill

C Team had a great practice this morning, but for some reason did not look comfortable on the floor during the game. As we struggled to communicate with each other, we allowed Fossil Hills to slowly creep ahead of us in each game. When the Lady Wranglers were able to return the serve, we were very evenly matched with their game play stats. Our player of the game was Pranavi Ramineni for an outstanding service game and Emma Bailey for her successful play at the net.

B Team also had a good morning practice, and after warming up during the first game played much better in the second game. Our ability to recover the ball off the net was a challenge for us, however when we were able to keep it off the net it was a fun game. Our server of the game was Sarvani Tadimeti and our defensive player of the game for her digs on the back row was Kiyanna Bhakta.

A Team had a lot of energy during the B and C games that we hoped to bring with us on the floor. This week we tried to focus on creating that energy and how important it is when we are on the road. The girls came together during the game and supported each other, and I could hear them telling each other the right things and encouraging each other through the inevitable mistakes. What’s important is we learn to play through our mistakes and keep going, one point at a time. Though our serve receive is still struggling and costing us a lot of points, we are chipping away and starting to look play and move like we are supposed to. As we inch closer to the end of the season, I am excited to see how much more they improve. Our players of the game this week were Paola Farinas Marquina, and Fatima Siddique, who both stepped into some new and uncomfortable roles, but continued to hustle and took on the challenge.
