The Lady Wrangler 8th grade volleyball teams played their last game at home on Thursday night against some tough Fossil Hill Panthers. The 8th grade B team started the first game off slow and the lack of momentum and communication really hurt the Lady Wranglers in game 1, however, in game 2, the Lady Wranglers came back and took it to the Panthers winning 28-26. The Lady Wranglers fought hard in game 3, but still fell short in the end. Players of the game were Emma Perez and Fizza Shafiq with their steady play in all games and strong serves. The Lady Wranglers will finish out the season on the road, starting with Medlin on Saturday.
A-team’s improvement over the season has just been remarkable. For our last home game, it was great to see so many awesome teachers there supporting our girls in and out of the classroom. Fizza Shafiq and Marley Sloop stepped up to the plate this week and fought in both B & A’s games. Fossil Hill brought some hard hitters, but our defense was ready. Muneera Seif shut it down at the net with her blocks and Reva Shankar was there to recover it if it got past with amazing digs. Our serve/receive struggled a little bit and cost us some points, but we were able to recover a lot of them. With only 3 games left, we travel to Medlin on Saturday!
