The Lady Wrangler volleyball teams traveled across town to take on the North Cougars in their non-zone match up last night and were hungry for some wins. The Lady Wrangler C team started the night playing one of their best sets of the season so far and that paid off by them winning the first set with a score of 25-21. The Cougars came back in the second game looking for some revenge, but quickly realized the Lady Wranglers were not going to let them off easy. It was a back and forth second set that made the Lady Wrangler C team dig deep and use each other to pull off another win, and that is exactly what happened, the Lady Wranglers won in two with a score of 25-22 in the second set. A great job by all players, it was definitely a team effort. Players of the game goes to Marley Sloop and Kaitlyn Philip with their aggressive play on the net and Alina Ye with aggressive back row play.

A-team was ready to finally play a rematch of last year when we were so close to winning and finally doing it in 3 games! The Lady Cougars didn’t make it very easy, though, with lots of setter dumps on the second ball and short and quick free balls right over the net. Our setters stepped up their game making sure there was coverage behind the block. The Lady Wranglers were able to take advantage of the technical mix ups that North had with their rotation to get in their heads and give the ball to the players that were going to make a play easier to defend. Isabel Agudelo had some awesome short serves that were hard to defend and Reva Shankar was able to spot serve in the most beautiful way. We are so proud of each player, and are excited to end the season on a strong note against Vista Ridge next week.
