West A Team: 23
Timberview: 40

This weekend the Wranglers faced the Timberview Hawks for their first game in almost two weeks. They started the game a little rusty and were down 12-5 after the first quarter. After just minutes in the second quarter, they battled back and were only down 16-11. Unfortunately, it was hard to keep this up and the Wranglers began to be bested. Haniel Johnson led the team in scoring with 7 points, followed by James Faison with 5 of his own. Ryan Truong proved again to be the hardest worker on the floor with 4 points and multiple defensive rebounds that minimized the Hawks potential to score. Down the stretch the Wranglers fought hard, but a high number of turnovers and missed shots were the difference between winning and losing. Next week they look to bounce back against Fossil Hill Middle School.

The Wranglers took to the road once again to face the Timberview Hawks in their sixth matchup of the season. The team struggled again offensively and a high number of turnovers cost the Wranglers several scoring opportunities. Parth Patel and Atharva Naktode both got into early foul trouble and had to sit, which disrupted the chemistry of the players on the floor. The score was 29-6 at the half. The boys gave great effort defensively in the second half and held the Hawks to only 11 points in the 3rd & 4th quarters, but just couldn’t get the offensive side of the court going. Mehlam Khambati led scoring with 3 points and added 2 steals, while Yuvraj Bhandari and Parth Patel each contributed 2 points. The Wranglers have no time to rest as they head out to Fossil Hill Middle School on Monday to take on the Panthers.
