7th Grade:
West A Team: 42
Medlin: A Team: 37

The Coppell Middle School West Wranglers took on the Meldin Mustangs on the road. The game started with both teams trading baskets in a fast-paced game. At the end of the first quarter, the Wranglers were up 12-11. The second quarter started, and the Wranglers got multiple stops on the defensive ends with blocks by Aston Huynh and steals from Drake Baes and Trey Holt to give the Wranglers a six-point lead heading into halftime. At the start of the second half, the Mustangs went to a full-court press, which caused a few turnovers by the Wranglers and made it a close game. The Wranglers regained their composure and had key rebounds by Sebastian Pena and won the gain by the final score of 42-37. The Wranglers will be looking to add to their winning streak as they face cross-town rivals Coppell North Cougars on the road this Monday.



7th Grade:
West B Team: 24
Medlin B Team: 32

This weekend the Coppell Middle School West Wranglers took on the Medlin Mustangs on the road. The game started as a defensive battle as both teams were scoreless for the game's three minutes. The Mustangs struck first with a three-pointer that got the crowd energized. The Wranglers then went into full-court pressure to get some momentum going offensively. Hatim Nicobar and Bobby Hatfield got three steals apiece and scored on half of them. The Wranglers took the lead going into the second quarter. Once the start of the second half started, the Mustangs put a full-court pressure of their own, which the Wranglers couldn't withstand, and lost the game 32-24. The Wranglers will be looking to bounce back as they face cross-town rivals Coppell North Cougars on the road.

7th Grade:

West C Team: 14
Medlin C Team: 21

The Coppell Middle School West Wrangler C Team lost to Medlin this weekend on the road. The final score of the game was 21 to 14. The Medlin Mustangs got up to an early lead and the Wranglers had a difficult time getting their offense going and putting points on the board. Although they managed to regularly break the full court press throughout the game, the Wranglers struggled in getting the ball in the basket. Wrangler guard, Stanley Calvin, led the offense in scoring with 7 points on the game. Point guard, Justice Ihezie, also scored 3 points for the Wranglers. Center, Tiam Ansari, led the Wrangler defense in rebounds, with 4 on the game. This week, the CMS West Wranglers will take on the Coppell Middle School North Cougars on the road.
