8TH GRADE WRANGLERS FALL TO NORTH

8th Grade Wranglers Fall to North

BOYS ATHLETICS

Basketball | 2/2/2021

8th Grade:
North B: 40
West B: 14

This week the Wranglers took on their cross-town rival, the Coppell Middle School North Cougars. The team started off strong once again, showing improvement they have earned throughout the season. Parth Patel was able to drive into the lane as much as he pleased, but struggled to finish at the rim. Unfortunately, in the second quarter the Cougars began to press the Wranglers and this was a recipe for disaster. Going into halftime the Wranglers were down by 16 points and had a lot of work to do to get back into the game. They fought hard the second half, but weren’t able to manage stopping the Cougars. Melham Khambati led the team in scoring with nine points. Atharva Naktode led the team in rebounding. Next week the Wranglers will have one last chance to earn their first victory against Vista Ridge Middle School.

North A: 63
West A: 14

This week the Wrangler faced their cross-town rival, the Coppell Middle School North Cougars. It was the toughest match-up they’ve seen all season. The Wranglers unfortunately were also missing two of their usual starters, Haniel Johnson and Ryan Truong. It seemed as though in the first quarter, the team couldn’t keep up with the Cougars, letting them go on an 18-0 run. The Wranglers fired back in the second quarter putting up a much better fight. Down the stretch the team became exhausted having only one sub to relieve players who were gassed. In the end the team fought hard, but struggled to knock-down shots. The Wranglers will have one more chance to earn their third win of the season against Vista Ridge Middle School.
