West A:39
Vista Ridge A: 50

This week the Wranglers played Vista Ridge Middle School for the second time. The last time they faced off, West lost 50-27, but felt like they stood a better chance this time. Sure enough in the first quarter, the Wranglers went up 14-10 and were only down 27-24 going into halftime. The team switched up their defensive plan which had a profound effect on the Panthers. The Panthers hadn’t changed their defense which is exactly what the Wranglers prepared for. At the end of the third quarter, West was down by four points and needed to make their move. Each team went back and forth scoring, but with about two minutes left, the Wranglers couldn’t knock-down their shots and the Panthers sealed the deal. It was a hard fought battle and a great way to end the season. Haniel Johnson led the team in scoring with 15 points. Kunaal Kapoor added his own 11 points which was a season high for him.

West B: 9
Vista Ridge B: 44

The Wranglers took on Vista Ridge at home for the final game of the year. This is the second time West faced off against the Panthers in the shortened basketball season. In the first matchup, the Wranglers fell on the road 42-9. Unfortunately, the rematch looked much the same as the first contest with West showing great energy and effort, but struggling to get the ball through the hoop on the offensive side of the court. Parth Patel once again led the team in scoring with 5 points, while Atharva Naktode and Yuvraj Bhandari each contributed 2 points. In the end, the Wranglers just couldn’t match the Panthers and lost by a score of 44-9.
