The Coppell Middle School West Wranglers took on the Indian Springs Eagles at home for the first game of the year. The Wranglers started the game by moving the ball on offense with great runs by Justice Ihieze and Aryan Bajwala, but the Eagles kept the Wranglers out of the end zone. The Wranglers players were flying around defense and disrupting the Eagle's offense. Abdul Mirza and Mohammad Pachisa were leading the way with great tackles. The Wranglers were only two possessions away at halftime from tying the score. They came out in the second half with tons of energy and fight and displayed that they competed once the first half jitters went away. However, it wasn’t enough as the Eagles ran the ball on offense most of the second half, which took time off the clock to prevent a Wrangler comeback and won the game. The Wranglers will be looking to bounce back next week Tuesday against Pike!

The West 8th Grade A team took on Indian Springs this week to kick off their season at home. The Wranglers started with the ball on offense and struggled to move the ball in the beginning of the game. The defense gave up a couple of big plays in the first half but settled in and played really hard in the second half. Injuries would be an obstacle for West all evening and players were having to play different positions all night long. Julian Walker and Dristant Chaudhary stepped up on the defensive line and got in the Indians backfield on multiple occasions. Aston Huynh scored the only touchdown for the Wranglers when he took a kickoff return back all the way to the endzone for the first touchdown of the season. The A team travels to Pike middle school next week for the second game of the season.
