7th grade Lady Wranglers battle it out at Timberview

WEST GIRLS ATHLETICS

CMS West | 9/24/2021

The Lady Wrangler A team broke their highest-point record this week against Timberview scoring 17 and 18 points in our games against the Lady Falcons. Though we came up short in the end, our Lady Wranglers fought hard to improve. Our reactions were fast to crazy balls and serves are getting better every time. Addison Howard led with powerful serves at the beginning of the first set with Ameya Kella and Riya Suresh reacting fast to constantly changing rallies. These girls fought hard and continue to improve so much each and every game.

The B team had a strong and consistent first game on the road against the Lady Falcons, but were not able to keep the momentum in game 2. The girls fought hard and battled in both games, and Taliah Ellis and Rachel Chio both led their team with some strong serves and great defensive play. The girls only fell by 3 points in game 1, and were hoping to take it to 3 with Timberview, but just couldn’t finish with the consistency that was needed in game 2. Player of the game this week went to Medha Mallu for her strong serves and leadership on the court.

The C team started off strong winning their first game 25-22 against the Timberview Falcons and even had a strong start to game 2. However, some tough rallies and strong front row play from the Falcons proved to be too much for the Lady Wranglers. All players improved on their serves this week, and it was nice to see that hard work from the week pay off behind the line. Leading the team on offense this week was Manali Patel and Kacey Song for their strong serves and continuous fight on the front row. The Lady Wranglers are looking forward to working hard this next week and playing at home next Thursday to show off their new skills and continuous fight on the court!
