The Lady Wrangler C team started the night off with some grit and determination on Thursday night at home against one of their cross town rivals, the North Cougars. The first set of the night was a bit slow and missed serves definitely had the Lady Wranglers working extra hard to get points in some other ways. The Lady Wranglers lost the first set, but came back to win the second set with a score of 25-22. The third set was close and both teams fought hard, but the Cougars got the last few final points to take the win. All players contributed in the game and there were a lot of great plays by the Lady Wranglers, but the players of the game goes to Fiona Erb and Ravali Mocharla for their leadership and aggressive play on the front row.

The Lady Wrangler B team had a very similar start to their game against the Cougars. The girls battled, but eventually fell short by a few points in the first set, but were not ready to give up just yet. The B team worked hard and had some great passes and serves to take the second set, and had a strong start to the third. The Lady Wranglers fought to the very end, but fell short in the final set with a score of 14-16. The B team looked great this week on the back row, but we just weren’t as aggressive as the Cougars on the front row. Overall, a great game by all, but the players of the game this week are Nidhi Koyyalamudi and Bianca Podval.

Our A team girls played their match with energy and grit like never before. They were defensively prepared for North’s hits in the front row, as well as their dumps from the setter. The Lady Cougars did have some mean serves that were tough to pass, but we were able to adjust after a couple to break it. Hannah Polito and Abby Ruiz were ready for tip and hit coverage at any point in the front and back rows. Coach Resendez is very impressed with their adaptability with changing line ups and confidence to do it well. Though we fell short in the end, the West coaches are very proud of how the Lady Wranglers played.
