The CMS West Wranglers took on the North Cougars Wednesday night at a rainy Budy Echols Field at Coppell High School. The Wranglers started the game on defense against the Cougar offense. North marched the ball down the field picking up small chunks of yardage along the way before finally getting it into the end zone. They would convert their PAT and take an early 8-0 lead. The Wrangler defense would buckle up after that and not allow the Cougars into the end zone. 3 Wrangler interceptions and a 4th down stop on the 1 yard line kept the Cougar offense in check. One West interception by Zyan Patel was returned all the way for a touchdown, but a block in the pack penalty brought the ball back to the 50 yard line where the West offense would take over. The Wrangler offense had a difficult time moving the ball all night long and was not able to help out their defense. The final score was 8-0. The Wranglers will face off against the East Broncos next Tuesday at Buddy Echols Field.

The Coppell Middle School West Wranglers faced their cross-town rival, the North Cougars, on Wednesday night. The Wranglers kicked the ball off to the Cougars, and the Cougars special team capitalized on it with a touchdown. The Wrangler's offense got on the field and tried to answer back. Kumall Abid gained several yards on the quarterback keeper. Justice Ihezie ran the ball well but couldn't get in the endzone. The Wranglers turned it over on downs which gave the Cougars good field positioning. The Wrangler's defense kept them out of the endzone with great tackles by Kavin Nathan and Kritan Poudel. Ishan Wakade did a great job as an outside backer at forcing the running back inside where all his teammates were to help tackle. It was a two-score game with the Cougars in the lead going into halftime. The Cougars eventually pulled out the victory. The Wranglers will face off against the East Broncos next Tuesday at Buddy Echols Field.
