The West Wrangler 8th grade football teams competed in their final game of the season on Tuesday combined as one team. The A and B team competed against Vista Ridge’s one team and fell by a final score of 6-32. The Wranglers started off the game with an onside kick which they recovered, but an offsides penalty and a rekick gave the ball back to Vista Ridge for their first possession. The Wranglers defense held strong in the first half. Kavin Nathan chased down a running back downfield and caused a tackle on the B teams first time on defense, but the offense was able to capitalize. The score was 13-0 at halftime with the Wranglers getting the ball to start the 2nd half. The offense couldn’t get anything going until a few great runs and a catch by Gabe Villa. Justice Ihieze found the end zone on a 30 yard run with just seconds on the clock to get West on the scoreboard. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Wranglers this year!
