C Team started our night off against the East Broncos last night and had a much better night than the previous week. Despite the loss, the girls definitely turned things around this week and it looked like some skills and opportunities began to take shape. The girls took advantage of opportunities to score, and did a great job at trying to run our offense. We struggled on defense, allowing too many easy shots in the lane, but we were excited to see improvement from last week. Our player of the game last night was Faiza Firdaws who scored 6 of our 18 points and worked hard as one of our point guards last night.
B Team started off a little slower, up against a tough East B team, but held their own throughout the night. We also struggled on the defensive side helping each other out and allowing a lot of free layups throughout the game. The girls hung tough though and were not afraid to shoot the ball and score on offense. Our leading rebounder for the night was Jada Kinnon, with 6, who also scored 2 points, and our player of the game was Nidhi Koyyalamudi who was our leading scorer and broke out of her comfort zone to try and help her team on offense.
The Lady Wrangler A team has had some really tough opponents two weeks in a row now. The girls knew that the Lady Broncos were not going to be an easy team, however, the Lady Wranglers never quit playing, they didn’t stop until the last buzzer sounded. This A team did look better this week than they did last week against the Cougars and that is progress and something that we are going to keep working on. The Lady Wranglers want to be at their best in their last game on the road at Vista Ridge Middle school next Wednesday. Player of the game this week goes to Hannah Polito with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal.
