Our Lady Wrangler started off our 2022 season this past Thursday with our home opener against the Lions from Adams Middle School. The A team started off the night for us with a tough game. Against a tough Adams offense, emotions were high throughout the night, but we fought for every point and made sure Adams fought for each of theirs. I’m proud of the girls' scrappiness and ability to make quick adjustments on the floor. Our player of the game this week was Ameya Kella who did great work both on offense and defense this week. We have a short week of practice coming up this week, but the girls are excited to take on the Carroll Dragons this next Thursday at home.

The Lady Wranglers B team knows how to go to battle! They fought till the end and never gave up, but our best efforts fell short. Our first set ended in a close 22-25 loss. And we powered through our 2nd set but came up short 9-25. Every player put their heart and soul into their first game against Adams, and we look forward to learning and honing our skills for next week’s game. Our high point, server leaders go to Rachel Chio and Jamyson High-Williams! Defensive players of the week go to Bianca Podval and Payton Moses each having multiple kills. The Carroll Dragons will not be ready for the heat we will bring next week.

The Lady Wranglers C team fought all the way till the end with resilience but fell short in the end. The girls started off strong, losing a nail-biter 25-27 with the help of consistent serving coming from our leading scorers Sneha Mittal and Shreeya Kerthipati. Another standout, Anika Baindur, led her team in defensive plays. The girls left it all out on the floor in set 2 but came out short with another 25-27 loss. Everyone put in 100% and I could not have asked for better results! We will take our experience and turn it into a learning opportunity. We are looking forward to our next home game against the Carroll Dragons.
