7TH GRADE LADY WRANGLERS TAKE 2 AGAINST FOSSIL HILL

7th grade Lady Wranglers take 2 against Fossil Hill

CMS WEST ATHLETICS

West Girl's Athletics | 9/16/2022

The Lady Wrangler 7th grade volleyball teams traveled to Fossil Hill Middle school on Thursday night for their third game of the season. The C team came out with high intensity and great energy right from the get-go, winning the first game of the match 25-7. Fossil Hill fought back in the second game and took them to three, but after a well fought battle, the C team brought home the first win of the season! The C team player of the game is Gargi Thakur for her killer serving run of 10+ serves in the first game. The C team player of the week is Ravali Garikapati for her hustle and leadership on the court during games and daily practices. The C team will not play an official game next week due to our opponent not having a C team, but they will have a scrimmage at 7:00pm.

After cheering on our C team through their first win, the B team hit the court fired up and ready to play. The B team had high energy, positive attitudes, strong passing, consistent serves, and great hustle. Fossil Hill took the first game, but the Lady Wranglers did not let that discourage them. After a hard fight to three games, the B team was also able to bring home their first win of the season! The B team players of the game are Spruha Mudgalkar for her hustle on defense and Dia Patidar for her positive attitude on the court.

The A team was hoping to keep it going with getting their first win of the season, and they definitely did not give up without a fight, but fell short in the end. The girls had an intense first set, having a big come back and keeping it close, but fell short with a heartbreak loss of 27-29. The girls were crushed and had a slow start, but continued to battle for each and every point in the second set. Only allowing two dropped balls, but missing 8 serves, this really hurt the Lady Wranglers. The girls fell short by 4 points to finish it off, but they grew as a team and have made a lot of improvement in 4 weeks. Players of the game go to Amani Harper and Pranavi Madala. The girls are looking forward to improving even more as a team this next week and taking on the Lady Panthers.

Overall, it was a great night for the Lady Wranglers. They are looking forward to playing their first games in front of their home crowd next Thursday, starting at 5 pm against Vista Ridge.
