The Coppell Middle School West Wranglers faced their cross-town rival, the North Cougars, on Wednesday night. The Wranglers kicked the ball off to the Cougars, and the Cougars special team capitalized on it with a touchdown. The Wrangler's offense got on the field and tried to answer back. Aayush Golla gained several yards on the quarterback keeper. Daniel Kim ran the ball well but couldn't get in the endzone. The Wranglers turned it over on downs which gave the Cougars good field positioning. The Wrangler's defense kept them out of the endzone with great tackles by Hridresh Sapkota and Darsh Thakur. Pranav Vempati did a great job as an outside backer at forcing the running back inside where all his teammates were to help tackle. It was a two-score game with the Cougars in the lead going into halftime. The Cougars eventually pulled out the victory. The Wranglers will face off against the Wilson Wildcats next Tuesday at home.

8th Grade A Team:
West: 12
North: 22

The Wrangler 8th Grade A team traveled up Denton Tap Tuesday to face off against the CMS North Cougars at Buddy Echols Field at CHS. The Wranglers were in the game until the end but came up just short of getting their first win of the season. The defense was all over the field all night long keeping the Cougar offense at bay for most of the night. Phillip Fordjour had a great night on offense and defense with a touchdown and also an interception to go with his handful of tackles. Chrituan Young added some catches from Quarterback Arya Bonthu and Camron Chevalier-Tek had a decent night running the ball. Arush Sanjay was able to recover a fumble in the end zone by one of his teammates to get the Wranglers their 2nd touchdown of the evening. Down by 4 points late in the 4th quarter the Wrangler offense was driving looking for the go-ahead score, but fell short. The Wranglers are in action again next Tuesday at home vs Wilson Middle School.
