8th Grade Competes in Last Home game

GIRLS ATHLETICS

Volleyball | 10/24/2022

The Lady Wrangler C team started the night off strong with 11 out of 14 serves making it over the net in the first set. The girls were just as successful by making 15 out of 17 serves over and in on the second set. However, defensively we struggled with our transitions during our rallies and had a difficult time covering the middle. Our player of the game goes to Ankia Baindur for leading her team in serves, and Helena Comparin for leading her team in defensive kills and digs. Overall the girls played their hearts out, and cannot wait to beat the Broncos next week!

B team struggled in the first match to find their groove, but redeemed their spirits with a huge comeback in the second match. Their efforts were not enough to have a third set and were defeated 0-2. Even with a loss, we could see that the girls have been implementing what we practice! Vyshnavi Devarakondra did a phenomenal job playing front row by calling the ball and getting solid hits over the net. In addition, Shreeya Komaravelli led her team in serves and defensive plays during our game against Timberview. I also want to recognize Nidhi Koyyalamudi for her leadership and positive attitude throughout the entire game! We have two more practices to prepare for the Broncos. We hope to see everyone there!

The Lady Wrangler A team finished off the night for us in a tough game against Timberview. The girls played well, but missed some key opportunities to grab the momentum. We struggled with some timely service errors and rally errors that kept us from earning some much needed points. The girls kept their spirits up and worked hard together throughout the game. They did a great job of coming together as a team between each point and communicating on the floor. We had some great things happen on defense and it definitely felt like what we emphasized at practice this week paid off despite the loss. Our players of the game were Maddie Harris for her effort on the front row for both offense and defense, as well as Addison Howard who stayed aggressive all night, and padded the stat book across the board with multiple digs, kills, and assists throughout the night. The Lady Wranglers finish up their season next week in a big cross-town match up against the East Broncos!
