8TH VOLLEYBALL SNAGS BIG WIN IN LAST REGULAR SEASON GAME

8th Volleyball snags BIG win in last regular season game

WEST ATHLETICS

Girls Volleyball | 10/27/2022

An exciting night for the Lady Wranglers as they finished up their regular season against our rivals the East Broncos. The girls had some mountains to overcome for their games, and they played hard for their final game. The C team started us off for the night, and they had some great runs against a tough serving game from East. We finally woke up about half way through the first set and tried to climb back, but we weren’t able to hold out for the first set. The second set ended the same, but it felt like the girls had fun and they enjoyed playing together no matter what the end result. The players of the game for C team were Anika Baindur for her consistent serving and Shree Vijay Krishna for her work at the net both on offense and defense. Another honorable mention was Siri Kodali for stepping into front row positions and doing a great job!

The B team had a rough night to finish the season against some tough servers from East. We started off a little slow with everything, woke up some in the middle of the 1st set but after the loss, our spirits were a bit crushed going into set 2. We struggled on serve receive and lost some big rallies and it ended up hurting our confidence. Everyone got to play though and have fun with their team. Our players of the game were Rachel Chio for her work as our solo setter, and Nidhi Koyyalamudi for her work on service line. Wished we could have had better scores for our final game, but proud of how far they’ve come!

The A team finished out the night with an exciting match up! If you weren’t there, honestly you missed a good game. We started off a little slow getting ourselves in a hole early, but quickly brought ourselves out of that and we never looked back. The first set proved to be the most exciting match with a final score of 28-26. The girls rallied together to push through some nail biting rallies. The gym was loud but our pride and spirit won out. The second set proved an easier win, as East struggled through mistakes and tight calls from the ref. The girls finished the regular season on a high note and are looking forward to competing in our end of season tournament on Saturday! Our players of the game were Sophia Ennes who played through an injury and gave her best effort and Ameta Kella who was dominate on the service lines. Each girl contributed to the game in a major way! We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of them.
