8th Grade Takes on Carroll

8th grade C team:
West: 17
Carroll: 36

The Coppell Middle School West Wranglers played their second game of the season vs the Carroll Dragons. It was a hard fought game but the Wranglers took a 36-17 loss. Pranav Vempati led the way with 7 points and 3 outstanding blocks and the ultra quick Dayton Tran swiped 3 steals during the game. The Wranglers will look to bounce back next week against Fossil Hill Middle School.

8th grade B team:
West: 41
Carroll: 44
The Coppell Middle School West Wranglers took on the Carroll Dragons in their second game of the season. The game was exciting from start to finish! The Wranglers started off the game with great shooting from Arya Bonthu, and Aryan Patel. The Dragons kept the game close with getting second chance points and causing turnovers on the Wranglers. The game went down to the wire and the exciting game couldn't end in regulation. Evan Baltimore hit a clutch free throw to take the game to overtime. In the overtime period the Wranglers ran out of gas and lost the lead in the last minute of the game. The Wranglers will look to get back on the win column next game as they face the Fossil Hill Middle School Panthers on the road.


8th grade A team:
West: 57
Carroll: 64
The West Wranglers were on the road this week to face Carroll Middle School Dragons. The Wranglers started off the game well with drives to the basket by Robert Watson. The Dragons answered back with scores of their own to keep the game close. The score was tied in the first quarter up until the last seconds when a Carroll player hit a fadeaway three pointer to put Carroll up by 3 points going into the second quarter. In the second quarter the Wranglers received great contributions from Madhav Kumar, and Sachid Pola off the bench. Christuan Young played great and kept the Wranglers with great shooting and playmaking. The Wranglers could not withstand the Dragons run and lost 64-57. The Wranglers look to get back on track as they face Fossil Hill Middle School on the road.
