7th Grade Boys Keep Winning Ways vs Vista Ridge

7th grade C team
West - 18
VR - 23

The Coppell Middle School West C Team lost a close game this week to the Vista Ridge Middle School Panthers. The final score was 23 to 18. It was a close game going into half, with Vista Ridge up 11 to 4. In the second half, the Wranglers managed to narrow the lead, but were unable to go home with the win. Wrangler pointguard, Safal Kandel, scored 8 points to lead the Wrangler Offense. Power Forward, Prateek Pilly, led the Wranglers in rebounds with 4 on the game. On defense, Wrangler Center, Deandrea Mack, led the team in steals with 4 on the game. Next week, the Wranglers will play on the road against the Coppell Middle School North Cougars.

7th grade B team
West - 25
VR - 12

The West Wranglers 7th Grade B team got their first win of the season over the weekend at the Northwest ISD Tournament and took the court Monday looking for their first district win. The Wranglers came out hot in the first quarter. A quick 10-5 lead at the start of the game would get the Wranglers out in front early. The 3rd quarter was a little shaky for West and Vista Ridge stayed around by out scoring the Wranglers 6-5 in the frame. But the Wranglers offense exploded in the 4th quarter and the defense stood strong and the Wranglers pulled away late to take the game 25-12. Leading the Wranglers in Scoring was: Taylor Johns- 11, Vihaan Desai- 6, Tyler Mahama- 4. The leading rebounders were: Taylor Johns- 28, Dee Raybourn- 4, Tyler Mahama- 4. Johns would also add 4 steals to his stat sheet. That is the first Double Double of the season for any Wranglers player! Next week, the Wranglers will play on the road against the Coppell Middle School North Cougars.



7th grade A team
West - 38
VR - 24

The West Wranglers 7th Grade A team looked to continue their winning ways after getting their first win last week. They traveled on the road for their first away game to face off against Vista Ridge. The Wranglers had a slow start to the game. The offense for West seemed out of rhythm but the defense kept them close. At the end of the first quarter the Wranglers found themselves down 6-5. The Wranglers were a completely different team in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Wranglers outscored Vista Ridge by a combined 27-7 in those two quarters alone. The Panthers cut into the West lead a little in the 4th quarter but it was too little too late and the Wranglers would come out on top 38-24. Leading the Wranglers in scoring were: Shaun Gandhi- 20, Pierce Huynh- 6, Shriamsh Chavali- 6, Shivam Khetapal- 4. Leading rebounders were: Shaun Gandhi- 7, Piecer Huynh- 7, and Shriamsh Chavali- 4. Next week, the Wranglers will play on the road against the Coppell Middle School North Cougars.
