The 8th grade Lady Wrangler basketball teams had their first home game last night against the Vista Ridge Lady Panthers. The teams were excited, as well as nervous, to be in front of their home crowd, but the excitement prevailed and the Lady Wranglers dominated in both games.

The B team came out fighting for the ball in the beginning of the game. The whole team worked together to make sure that shots were made and plays were called well. Kanishka Muthukuri led the team well, protecting the ball and getting through some tough Panther Defense. Jada Kinnon played rough in the paint, leading the team in rebounds with 11 total. While Nysa Nayak led the team with 4 steals, helping take the Lady Wranglers to a 28-8 win. Great job to the Lady Wranglers B Team for working together, reading the court well, and making smart decisions during gameplay.


The A team had a slow start against some hungry Panthers, but once they found their rhythm their groove couldn’t be messed with. All of the Lady Wranglers contributed to this win on both sides of the ball. Scoring for the Lady Wranglers was Jamyson High-Willams with 15 points; Taliah Ellis, Faiza Firdaws and Aditi Yechangunja with 6 points each and Sophia Ennes and Juhi Lohiya with 4 points. Overall, it was a great game by the Lady Wranglers and even on the defensive side with 20 steals as a team. Great job to these hard-working Lady Wranglers, now let’s go get ready for North next Thursday!
