On January 12, 2023, the Lady Wranglers traveled to Truett Wilson Middle School to face the Lady Wildcats for their return game back from Winter Break.

The 8th Grade B team started out the game with a hard, yet slow, fight against the Lady Wildcats for the ball. Working around the tough Wildcat defense, the Lady Wranglers tried their best to beat the defense down the court for an open shot. Jada Kinnon did a fantastic job at blocking the ball and receiving rebounds on the offensive and defensive end of the court. While Kanishka Muthukuri and Makayla Giddings worked the Wildcat defense by moving quickly and keeping them on their toes the entirety of offensive play. Although a Lady Wrangler loss, the B Team worked as a team as best as they could and had a positive outlook on how to grow for their next big home game.

The Lady Wrangler A team came out a little slow last night and had a tough time getting the ball to fall in the hoop, but that never stopped the Lady Wranglers from shooting. The Lady Wranglers outrebouded the Wildcats in both halves, but just couldn’t capitalize on those put-backs like we were hoping. Jamyson High-Williams led the team with 4 steals, 2 rebounds and 12 points. Taliah Ellis had 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 7 points and Hannah Polito had 5 rebounds and 3 steals to add to the tenacious defensive play by the Lady Wranglers. Other offensive contributions were Vyshnavi Devarakonda with 4 points and Payton Moses with 2 points.

The Lady Wranglers will play at home next week against the Coppell East Broncos! Come out to support your 8th Grade Lady Wranglers at this big home game!
