LADY WRANGLERS BATTLE AGAINST EAST, NAB A WIN!

Lady Wranglers Battle against East, Nab a Win!

WEST ATHLETICS

Girls Athletics | 1/20/2023

C Team started the night off strong by earning a strong victory against the Broncos! The girls effectively roped the Broncos and contained their efforts to buck ahead and won 17 to 13. Our player of the game goes to Maanya Vegesna, who led her team to victory by earning six of our seventeen points. In addition, Maanya had eight steals and three rebounds. A special honorable mention goes to Nataizya Gandhle who had a total of twelve out of thirty rebounds and scored two points. Overall, everyone played their hearts out and had fun winning. Next week we take on Timberview for our last home game!

The B Team was amped from C Team’s victory and came out ready to rumble. The Broncos started the game off with an intense and persistent press. Their full court press caused us to panic and make one too many turnovers. Due to their defense, our girls had a hard time seeing scoring opportunities and open teammates. In the end we lost 12 to 19. Regardless of the score, everyone played really well. Our player of the game goes to Reet Grover! Reet had a total of four points, one steal, and five rebounds. Come out for our teacher appreciation night next Thursday against Timberview.

The Lady Wrangler A team had a good night last night despite a loss. Unfortunately, East couldn’t miss and that kept them ahead in score for most of the night. The girls played well, and things are definitely coming together for them. In the last 9 weeks, the girls have improved so much, and if they still have time left to improve even more. The girls kept the game close during the first half, only trailing the Broncos 12-18. The 3rd quarter proved to be a little rough on the defensive side and we allowed them in the lane to pull ahead, however, the girls stuck it out for the 4th quarter, actually out scoring the Broncos 10-9, but it wasn’t enough to finish on top. The final score was 31-43. Our players of the game were Amani Harper with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Jasmine Suez, who had 4 points and 7 rebounds. The girls finished with a positive efficiency score and a positive attitude about what they have accomplished so far.
