On January 26, 2023, the Lady Wrangler 8th Grade Basketball Teams traveled to Timberview Middle School for their final away game of the season. Going against the Lady Hawks, the Lady Wranglers had tough competition to beat playing on defense and offense equally.

The 8th Grade B Team started off the night hot, leading the Lady Hawks by 10 in the first quarter. Helena Comparin came to the game prepared, with a fiery defense and speed in her offense. She was able to put up some points for the Lady Wranglers, while helping execute the offensive press breaks and plays throughout the entire game. Jada Kinnon and Suha Parvathaneni played a great defensive game, with a combined 12 rebounds and 10 points for the Lady Wranglers. It was down to the last 20 seconds when the Lady Hawks were able to come back and play against a tough Lady Wrangler defense to win the game by 1. AMAZING fight and work to our Lady Wranglers for an outstanding game!

The Lady Wrangler A team got off to a slow start, unlike the B team. The Lady Hawks came out on fire and ready to attack, both on offense and defense, holding the Lady Wranglers to just 9 points in the first quarter. The Hawks kept the strong aggression all game, but the Lady Wranglers never gave up. Jamyson High-Williams and Sophia Ennes led the way defensively with 8 steals between the two of them, while Taliah Ellis contributed 4 points and Jamyson, 11 on offense. Overall, not the best game for the Lady Wranglers, but they are hoping to get back to a few more practices and in their groove before their final game and tournament next week.

The Lady Wranglers will play their final game of the season at home next week, versus Trinity Springs Middle School, starting at 5 pm. Come out and support our 8th Grade Lady Wranglers for their final game of the season, and to honor the parents for Parent Night!
