Last Thursday, the Lady Wranglers volleyball team officially kicked-off their season at home against Cross Timbers Middle School. Although they were not ultimately able to claim the victory, they played phenomenally and started the season off on an incredible note.

The C Team started the night off strong for the Lady Wranglers. We struggled early to consistently get serves over and inbounds but then Hanae Taira brought us back with nine consecutive serves, of which four were un-returnable aces! The Lady Wranglers also displayed great improvements in the areas of blocking and hitting the ball by the dynamic duo of Ravali Garikapati and Tapasya Shah. They were assisted by our setters who set things up for us to go on the attack during or rally to come from behind. The C team Wrangler of the Week is Hanae Taira.

The action continued with the Lady Wolves of Cross Timbers as our B-Team fought to overcome their consistent serving and attacks. During our game Sanvi Gubbi Arun and Dhrithi Nerella tag-teamed to rack up eleven successful serves with 5 of them being aces helping us to achieve one of our team goals of three or more per match. Maanya Vegesna and Poshika Eswaran led the charge by digging super hard serves and hits, giving us the chance to fight for the win. The Lady Wranglers also logged their first official block of the season during the game. The B team Wranglers of the Week are Sanvi Gubbi Arun and Dhrithi Nerella.

Finally, A-team faced off in the final game of the night against the Cross Timbers Lady Wolves. Cross Timbers came out swinging and serving hard, but the Lady Wranglers did not give up the fight. They kept their energy high, continued to encourage one another, and used their positivity to ensure long runs from the Lady Wolves did not occur. The Lady Wranglers had a very strong defense and dominated on the front row with a beautiful kill from Paris Thibodeaux and an incredible stuff block from Izzy Smith. Throughout the game, the Lady Wranglers kept up strong, consistent serves, with several aces from Esha Polishetty, Addison Hatfield, Paris Thibodeaux, and Pranavi Madala. The A team Wranglers of the Week are Izzy Smith and Paris Thibodeaux.

Overall, the Lady Wranglers are making strides to improve daily, and we are so proud of their hard work and progress this season. We look forward to our next game this Thursday where we will face the CMS North Cougars on our home court— We hope to see you there!
