The 7th Grade Lady Wrangler Basketball Team played some intense games against the Grapevine Lady Ponies on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

For the Lady Wrangler A Team, the girls came out of the gate prepared and determined to stay on their feet throughout a hard fought game. Our defense stayed quick and aggressive as the girls kept the score low in the first half, trailing by 4. Just because we were trailing, did not mean we were giving up! As the second half began and the gym filled with more people cheering on the Lady Wranglers, the confidence of the team grew into the understanding that they could win. With two 3 pointers made by Alette Brown and Lyric Polk, amazing defense shown by Naomi Thomas and Ishani Dash, and great court movement represented by Srinika Arun and Kendi Kimanthi, the Lady Wranglers pulled out a close win of 23-21. Incredible job, Lady Wranglers!


For the Wrangler B Team, the girls earned their first win of the season! A great way to start off the new year. The girls started off quick with a couple of buckets made by Kashvi Mogili. With a tough full court man to man press, the girls picked up some quick steals and converted into baskets made by Klohee Williams. The Lady Wranglers did a great job of running the court, playing aggressive defense, and transitioning from defense to offense. We are so proud of our Lady Wranglers! We continue to improve every day! Such a great win with the score being 21 to 7.

For the Wrangler C Team, the girls earned a win as well! We swept Grapevine 3-0! What a way to end the night. Jordan Brown led the team with 8 points. She made some great plays on defense and finished some tough layups. The girls did a great job with pressing Grapevine and executing fast breaks. Ball movement and seeing open girls was key! The girls final score was 14 to 4. Way to go Lady Wranglers on a great night! We are so proud!


The Lady Wranglers have their second home game next week against Heritage Middle School, on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
