On Thursday, January 18, 2024, the 7th Grade Lady Wranglers played their second game at home against Colleyville Heritage Middle School. Although all three games were fought against all odds, all three teams fell short in their race to win a second game on their home court.

A Team- The Lady Wranglers kept it a tight game in the beginning, playing a hard press defense and a quick back and forth game with jump balls. However, the Lady Wranglers got held up when the Lady Broncos pulled out a zone defense. Lyric Polk, although fouling out in our last quarter, worked hard in moving the zone defense around, driving to the basket and attempting many shots. Ishani Dash and Srinika Arun worked hard on offense, moving baseline and communicating with their teammates to help get the ball to the hoop. Although a hard fight, the Lady Wranglers lost 49-17. Great effort, ladies!

B Team- The Lady Wranglers kept it a tight game last night. The girls were behind most of the game, but came back to take the lead 16-15 early in the 4th quarter. The girls put on a tough press and kept Heritage from scoring, but a couple of missed passes and mistakes caused Heritage to go on a 4-0 run and the final score was 15-20, with Heritage taking the game. The Lady Wranglers put on a show and displayed tough defense. Tanisha Yadav and Kashvi Mogili had some great steals and converted some lay ups. Anika Shori had some great fast breaks and made some key shots, which made her Wrangler of the Week. Good effort Lady Wranglers!

C Team-The Lady Wranglers started off strong against Heritage, but with miscommunication on defense and missed shots, Heritage started to pull away and the Lady Wranglers couldn’t catch up. Jordan Brown had some key plays on defense, along with Izzy Wu. Jia Wu led the team with steals and she was nominated for Wrangler of the Week. The final score was 9-26 with Heritage taking the win. Good effort again by the Lady Wranglers!

The Lady Wranglers hit the road again next week as they take on the Coppell Middle School East Broncos on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
