On Thursday, January 25, 2024, the Lady Wranglers took on the Lady Broncos in an intense away game. With three hard fought games, the Lady Wranglers walked away with their heads held high, although with none winning a game.
A Team - A quick game off the bat, the Lady Wranglers had to push themselves to keep the Lady Broncos at bay throughout the game. Although a smaller team than normal, the Lady Broncos had height and were quick, not wanting to give up the ability to win and the Lady Wranglers noticed this quickly. Ishani Dash and Srinika Arun worked hard to keep the ball with rebounds and steals, making sure that the Lady Wranglers had the ability to get the ball on their side of the court for shooting opportunities. Naomi Thomas and Lyric Polk worked hard to keep shooting the ball, and try to sink any shots they could. Although a tough fight, and an AMAZING second half, the Lady Wranglers sadly fell short.
B Team- The Lady Wranglers had another close game last night, but came up short. Two weeks in a row, the girls have lost by single digits. So close! East had a lot of height all across the board, making it challenging for the Lady Wranglers to break the press and get rebounds, but they kept fighting. East had a very aggressive team, but the girls hung with them. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get shots to fall. So many great opportunities, but some key missed shots, caused the girls to fall short with a score of 16-11.
C Team- The Lady Wranglers had a slow start against East. Not scoring until the 3rd quarter, the girls started to finally find a rhythm and scored 10 points. Again, East dominated in height and size, but the Lady Wranglers put up a good fight. We executed some fast breaks, but the shots had a hard time following all throughout the night. The Lady Wranglers came up short, 28-10.
The Lady Wranglers will be playing their last regular season game against Colleyville Middle School at home. We will also be celebrating our parents and guardians for Parent Appreciation Night! See you all then and GO WRANGLERS.
