LAST REGULAR SEASON GAME VS. THE LADY COLTS

Last Regular Season Game vs. The Lady Colts

WEST ATHLETICS

West Athletics | 2/2/2024

On Thursday, February 01, the Lady Wranglers went against the Lady Colts in a tough last regular game of the season. All three teams, with the ability to win, fought hard yet all fell short in the end with their final scores.

The A Team started out their game with speed and strong defense, making sure that the Lady Colts did not get too far ahead in the first two quarters of the game. Staying within a 10 to 12 point difference, Lyric Polk did an excellent job of communication and keeping the ball moving throughout the first half. Srinika Arun and Ayraa Vijay did a fantastic job of being big under the basket and looking for opportunities to get the ball to our side of the court. Diksha Turwale was great with getting as many rebounds as possible and making great passes to her teammates throughout the game. As the second half began, the Lady Wranglers continued to fight hard with a lot of shots going up, however it felt as if no shots wanted to go in. By the end of the game, the Lady Wranglers sadly lost with a 27 difference. We are so proud of our Lady Wranglers for fighting so hard throughout this entire season! Your hardwork has not gone unnoticed!

The B Team put up an excellent fight against Colleyville. The past 3 games have been so close, but missed shots caused the Lady Wranglers to fall short, 8 to 18. Defense was excellent by Kashvi Mogili and Tanisha Yadav. Anika Shori had some great attacks and finishes to the basket. So many opportunities underneath the basket, but we couldn’t convert the baskets to points. From the beginning of the season, up to the last game, the girls showed immense improvement. They learned the game of basketball and came together as a team. Great job Lady Wranglers for a good season!

The C Team also put up a good fight! Holding Colleyville to only 18 points. Tough defense by Izzy Lee and Jia Wu made it tough for Colleyville to run their offense. Jia Wu had some great drives to the basket, along with Izzy Lee, Jordan Brown, and Tanishka Yarlagadda. The girls were only down by 2 possessions most of the game, but the 4th quarter, Colleyville started to pull away and ended up taking the game, 18 to 10. Great job Lady Wranglers on the season. Everyone showed improvement and learned the game of basketball.

Although our regular season has come to an end, our A Team still has a possibility of winning more games! Next week, the Lady Wranglers A Team will take on the District Tournament start on Friday, February 09, 2024.
