This week, the West Wranglers traveled to Colleyville Middle School to face off against the Colleyville Colts for a second time this season. Although they had already played each other once in a scrimmage during pre-season, both teams have grown a lot in the past few weeks and were excited to compete against one another again.
The B team took the court first with high levels of energy. From the first serve, it was clear this match would be a battle, but the West Wranglers did not back down. They continued to fight throughout the game and showed great levels of heart and hustle. Although the West Wranglers ultimately came up short of a win, we are proud of our B team and are excited to see them continue to capitalize on their strengths in the coming weeks. The Wrangler of the Week is Hasvitha Maganti.
After the B team, the A team started their night off strong with tough serves, solid passes, and effective communication that kept the pressure on their seasoned rivals. With each rally, our players demonstrated not only skill but an unwavering heart and strong mental fortitude. Despite facing off against a highly experienced opponent, the Lady Wranglers demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the entirety of the game, and we are proud of their hard work on and off the court this week. The Wranglers of the Week were Kendi Kimathi, Rhea Parikh, and Tanishka Yarlagadda.
Last up for the night was the C team. Throughout the game, the energy of the West Wranglers was electric. Players hustled for every ball, had impressive digs, and moved the ball well on the court. Although we did not ultimately come out with a win, our C team and our crowd were able to finish the night on an incredibly high note, and we look forward to capitalizing on that energy, heart, and momentum next week. The Wrangler of the Week was Paula Palacio.
The experience of the Colleyville Colts was evident this week, but the West Wranglers countered with unyielding spirit, rallying back from deficits with impressive teamwork and strategic play. Each set showcased our growth and potential, even in the face of adversity. We are so proud of the Wranglers and their hard work, spirit, and tenacity. To celebrate their final away game and their effort and energy at the game, the West Wranglers took a trip to QT! We have had a great season together and cannot wait for our next game against Cross Timbers!
