The Coppell West Wranglers Cross Country team started their season off strong and confident going into their first two meets of the season.
In the first meet of the season, our team worked hard - learning about the competition throughout the district. With both boys teams and both girls teams either placing third or fourth place out of the 4 teams present, our team learned quickly about the amount of hard work we needed to continue to put into practice. Although our teams were in the ending numbers, our individual runners had some great times. With our fastest 8th grade boy landing 7th place overall with a 11:58.60 and our fastest 7th grade girls landing in 17th place overall with a 16:44.82.
With the knowledge of the competition in mind, the Wrangler XC Team worked hard over the next two weeks and going into the second home meet of the season. Both of our boys teams landed in third place as a group and our girls teams landed in 4th overall. Individually, our fastest 8th grade boy ran a 12:47.09 and landing in 6th place, with our next fastest 8th grade boy getting in 7th place with a time of 12:47.40. Our fastest 8th grade girl landed in 11th place overall, with a 14:59.52 time, helping lead the 102 girls running in the race total.
Overall, our team has been working extremely hard to get better and to push themselves. The Wrangler XC Team competes again tonight, at Cross Timber Middle School, for the last regular season meet of the year.
