The Coppell Middle West Wranglers took on the Pike Panthers on the road for the second game of the football season. The Panthers started with a big play and scored on the first drive. The Wranglers tried to answer back on offense by moving the ball. The Wranglers got within the endzone but didn't convert. The Wranglers went into halftime down 14-0. During halftime, the Wranglers made adjustments to stop the Panther's offense. However, the Wranglers came out in the second half with more energy. The defense stepped up and tackled as a unit, and the offense stayed on the field for most of the second half with long drives. The Wrangler's second adjustment was significant but not enough as the Panthers pulled off the victory. The West Wranglers will be looking to get on the winning column next week as they face Timberview Middle school.

The Wrangler 8th Grade A team took the field Tuesday night against the Pike Panthers for the second game of the season. The Wranglers started out on defense and gave the Panthers trouble in the beginning. A holding penalty on Aryas Raut brought back a rushing touchdown by the Panters, but they would score a few plays later to get on the board and start the scoring. The Wrangler offense had a difficult time moving the ball all night on the smoldering Panther defense. On the second play on offense for the Wranglers, QB Drake Baes found an open Aston Huynh for a quick pass and catch, but Huynh would fumble and Pike would recover to gain possession. Gabe Villa would take the workload in the backfield after an injury to Huynh and had a few plays with big gains. The Wranglers fall to 0-2 on the season and face Timberview Middle School next Week back at home!
